Under 12 months: 1 x 62.5ml block every 60mins.; 1 to 3 years: 1 x 62.5ml block every 60mins.; 3 to 6 years: 1 x 62.5ml block every 30mins.; 7 to 12 years: 2 x 62.5ml block every 30mins.; 12 to adult: 3 x 62.5ml blocks every 30mins.; For immediate use: 1. Cut open top of ice-block with clean scissors.; 2. Push up frozen ice-block from bottom.; 3. Hydralyte ice-blocks can be consumed immediately as a drink.; Avoid full strength fruit juice, soft drink, sports drinks or cordial, as these can speed up the dehydration process by worsening diarrhoea and stripping the body of essential mineral salts.
Dehydration due to vomiting and diarrhoea can be dangerous in young children under 5 years old, babies and older people.Seek medical advice if diarrhoea persists for more than:6 hours in infants under 6 months12 hours in children 6 months to 3 years24 hours in children aged 3 to 6 years48 hours for adults and children over 6 years.Avoid full strength fruit juice, soft drink, sports drinks or cordial, as these can speed up the dehydration process by worsening diarrhoea and stripping the body of essential mineral salts.
